QIPIT Online Copying Service!
Almost time for a new school year. It a bit of a race to finish up a hundred-and-one projects that I should’ve done during break…haven’t had much time to review tools. In the hunt for a portable scanner, I found:
If you have a camera cellphone, this service allows you to take a snapshot of a document (or a whiteboard full of notes) and send it, via email to their server, where it is converted to a PDF and saved in your (free!) account. Depending on phone, small text documents may or may not remain readable, but handwritten notes work fine.

Note (click on) the image I sent via email from my iPhone (left), and an image of the PDF (right). Not bad, considering the low contrast of this photo.
In a pinch, this application offers a quick way to save a copy of collaboratively developed notes, presentation notes on a white board, and even genealogical documents I just don’t have time to scan during my hurried summer travels.
